The Artist

Living and creating in Pagosa Springs Colorado alongside husband and artist Troy Couture.  Inspiration abounds in this Rocky Mountain town.  While staring at a blank canvas inspiration begins with the immediate moment.  Mood, temperature, weather is interpreted into color poured directly onto the canvas.  Manipulated by hand, crumpled paper, Saran Wrap, etcetera, seldom a paint brush.  Sometimes its just seeing something in the resulting texture, like seeing an image in the clouds overhead, a face in the tree trunk, the canvas announces what it wants to be and the adventure begins...

Commissions begin with a discussion of size, placement, color tones and content.  Who you are, where you live, what you desire, then I'm down the rabbit hole of your place.  I take great care and time in immersing myself in your vision.  That vision is, of course,  my inspiration but where it goes from there is dictated by the will of the canvas and where it guides me.
